The users have permissions, to create, change, delete the node, all the CCK fields and to execute the "Modify node fields" action. Still they get "Skipped Modify node fields on node X due to insufficient permissions". If you cannot access a download directory or file due to insufficient privileges, you may have installed the BDA to a directory for which you do not have write privileges.
